About Vesper Leather
The Vesper or Vesper Martini (often misspelt 'Vespa') is a cocktail. The drink was invented and named by secret agent James Bond in the 1953 novel Casino Royale. The research and development team that came up with the tanning process, very enthusiastic about the drink, registered the name and Vesper® leather was born. During the tanning process, Vesper leather is milled to a degree where the hides expands, acquiring a soft hand, a spongy texture and a surface shine that usually comes with decades of stone or marble burnishing. Vesper's surface shine comes from within the leather - unlike applied-shine effects. Products created with Vesper leather transform uniquely over time with individual wear.
Care and maintenance
Vesper leather requires little care. We recommend that you occasionally apply a gentle leather protector, such as m0851’s water-based Leather Protector and Leather Cleaner which will offer a shield from unwanted markings and spills. Wipe down the leather every so often with a damp cloth to clean it, revitalize it and revive its color. VESPER leather should never be spot cleaned; clean a whole section at once to avoid water or stain markings. Note that harsh cleaners and greasy substances such as alcohol, wax and mink oils will only distress the leather and clog its pores.
